11th annual Garden Rail Jam has first ever tie

The 11th annual Garden Rail Jam competition took place Sunday, Feb. 4 with 41 competitors taking advantage of fresh powder in the Rockstar Energy Terrain Park.

The event was broken down into four divisions of skier/snowboarder categories Grom, Junior, Women’s and Men’s.

In the Grom skiing (12 and under) category the competition was fierce with a tie for third announced between Jackson Atkinson and Emerson Kennedy. In second was Olson Advacaat just behind first-place champion Mattias Grunling.

Taking first place in the Grom snowboarding category was Nayte Brown followed by Austin Roath and Carson Hadwin in third.

In Junior ski coming in first-place was Dexter Williams with Zach Bachand in second and Kaeden Even in third. For snowboarding Merek De Witte took the top spot followed by Sam Fawcett and Jax Anderson.

The women’s division saw one competitor take on the course in the skiing category, Erin Flemming earned the top spot on the podium for her performance.

In snowboarding, Sophie Nicholls-Austin grabbed first followed by Nikki Lorentz in second and Jacqueline Atteridue in third.

The final showdown of the Rail Jam had the competitors in the Open Men’s category shredding the course. Fighting for the top spot in the skiing category Jarl Whist came out on top with Wolfgang Rieck taking second and Bradley Aronowski in third.

Finishing off the competition at the top of the podium for the snowboarders was Matt Wanbon followed by Malcom Eppinger and Braysen Kirby.
