Health outreach nurses from Interior Health will be at the Sun Peaks Health Centre Tuesday morning to provide information on HIV and the services available on World AIDS Day.
The nurses will be at the Health Centre from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 1.
Free and confidential HIV tests will be available for those wishing to get tested and no appointment is necessary.
The HIV testing guidelines for British Columbia recommend all adults aged 18 and older have an HIV test every five years.
Someone is newly infected with HIV every three hours in Canada and one in four people who are HIV positive don’t know it, according to Interior Health.
