Wondering what to do with your old computers, laptops, telephones, printers or computer hardware? Now you can get rid of your old IT equipment in a more environmentally and socially friendly way — donating it to the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA).
ERA is a non-profit charity that donates the IT products it collects to charities and non-profit organizations. Any useable IT products are refurbished, all data is removed and Windows operating system and basic software like Microsoft Office is installed. Any equipment that’s unusable will be sent to government certified processors for dismantling and recycling.
The charity has drop off locations across Canada including three in the greater Vancouver area. If you can’t make it to Vancouver, ERA provides recycling bins in some computer or electronics stores and can also arrange to pick up items from your office or home.
