Adaptive Sports Sun Peaks (ASSP) is celebrating volunteer Pat McKimmon for being awarded administrator of the year in the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS) national awards.

The award honours outstanding administrative qualities such as ensuring deadlines are met and keeping things running smoothly.

“I honestly can’t say where ASSP would be without Pat. She is a long-serving fountain of knowledge with respect to our operations as well as our clients, and an energetic supporter of everything we do,” said ASSP president Riann Batch.

She added McKimmon fills many roles for the program including past president on the board of directors, course conductor for volunteer training and the go-to person and mentor for the program manager, Batch and others.

“But the role she has the most passion for is volunteer instructor,” Batch said. “Sun Peaks would not be the same without her enthusiastic presence, and ASSP would be a shadow of its current form without her tireless support.  I can think of nobody more deserving of this recognition.”
