A country singer from the Kootenays whose career has taken her to Nashville and on stage with Keith Urban will perform in Sun Peaks this afternoon (Feb. 2).

Lisa Nicole has drawn on personal experience, a love of the country lifestyle and inspiration from stars like Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood to create a variety of songs. From love songs to her most recent single about being cheated on, Mad About It, there is something for everyone to connect with.

“It’s going to be so fun,” she said of the show. “It’s going to be acoustic and we love to see people dancing…because it’s in the daytime we get to hang out with the fans after the show and meet people.”

It’s not the first time the budding star has visited the community and she said she is looking forward to getting to ski.

“It’s a super great resort, a cool environment and everyone is always in a great mood,” she said. “I love the small town vibe that’s super chill.”

After Nicole wraps up her current tour in March she will head back to Nashville to focus on songwriting for her next album for five months before festival season begins at home.
The trip is another step in her musical career.

“I’ve never pursued anything else in my life,” Nicole said.
