It’s been a record-breaking year for BC Parks, and the season isn’t over yet.
By Labour Day over 115,000 camping reservations had been made through the province’s camping reservation service, Discover Camping. This was a 12 per cent increase over 2012. There are over 5,000 reservable camping sites in 95 of B.C.’s 1,030 provincial parks.
“2013 has been the busiest year ever for camping reservations in BC Parks,” stated Mary Polak, minister of the environment. “This means visitors are making good use of the resources available to get out and enjoy time in our world-class parks. There’s still much to do and see in BC Parks around the province.”
Many of the province’s parks remain open past Labour Day and into the fall, allowing campers to take advantage of lesser crowds and the last days of summer.
