With the future of the Sun Peaks Farmers’ Market hanging in the balance, it appears that the people and the community have listened, supported and shopped local this summer.
“We’ve received so much support from the local community this year, and the feedback in regards to the variety of items available at the market has been wonderful,” explains Meghan Kolodka, farmers’ market supervisor. “There was uncertainty at the beginning of the season whether or not we would be able to run the market next year, but given the positive response we’ve received this season, we’re confident that we’ll be able to bring it back again.
“People are becoming more interested in the importance of buying local, so the market has continued to be a great thing for Sun Peaks to have. We’ve also seen a large increase in vendor attendance this year due to the fact that the community has been so supportive.”
It will be the final market tomorrow, Sunday, 8th September – starts at 9.30am – don’t miss it!
