Aidan Kelly, director of sales and marketing for SPRC, said New Year’s Eve is a signature celebration for Sun Peaks.
“It always draws a crowd, and it’s a great family event,” Kelly said.
Events will kick off with the First Flight Big Air Invitational competition from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will see a number of skiers and boarders taking to the skies.
The Kids Glowstick Parade takes place at 7:45 p.m. and will feature up to 100 children skiing down the Sunbeam run beside the Village Platter. This will be followed by the Torchlight Parade at 8 p.m. — a “breathtaking” display featuring 170 skiers carrying flares down Sundance.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Registration for the Glowstick and Torchlight parade can be done through Guest Services throughout the day on New Year’s Eve. Number for these events are strictly limited and the event will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
