Sun Peaks’ Jason White is joining Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) for the inaugural Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto.

White will join CBRT teammates Larry Jackson, Josh Collins, Kevin Poitras and Robin Buck this weekend on July 16 at the Exhibition Place Circuit in downtown Toronto when NASCAR Pinty’s series co-headlines the Honda Indy Toronto.

“I really am stoked to return to the streets of Toronto, it’s such a driver’s track and the event is just a great vide. I’m really looking forward to a solid top-10 finish,” White said in a press release.

“I would really like to thank the CBRT for putting this deal together. (General manager) Joey McColm has built a top-notch organization and I’ll do my best to represent them well… on and off the track,” White added. “It takes a lot of effort to put these deals together, so I am very grateful to all parties that have stepped up.”

CBRT is a Canadian company that was established in 2013 that fields racing teams in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and Trans Am Series. The team is committed to environmental responsibility and is a pioneer of sustainability in auto racing, according to the CBRT website.

“We’re extremely happy to announce that Jason will be joining us for such a historic event,” McColm said. “He’s a strong racer with a lot of experience under his belt – we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together in Toronto.”

White also announced a renewed partnership with Rob Zimmer and Kamloops’ Zimmer Wheaton GMC Buick for the upcoming race.

“The two of us started this NASCAR Pinty’s Series adventure over 10 years ago, and since I’ll be back in a Chevy for the Grand Prix, we can continue a great legacy,” White said.
