From? I grew up in Saskatchewan and have lived at Sun Peaks for seven years.
What was the draw to Sun Peaks? Honestly what brought me here was (a job), what kept me here was the skiing. (At first) I didn’t even know it was a ski resort! It’s pretty chill up here, that’s the reason why I like it.
Favourite winter sport? I ski and snowboard. I’m converting back to skiing but I still love snowboarding. I find (skiing) the more challenging sport . . . a little more technical.
Job? Hairdresser from my home studio and also bartender at Mantles. This has been my dream of having my (studio) out of my house. I give (customers) a good private, personable atmosphere. (I’ve been hairdressing for) eight years.
Other interests? My dad is a musician . . . and got me into it at a young age. I now play guitar and sing for leisure. I don’t do many gigs but enjoy open mic nights and performing at the local farmers’ market. My passion is the blues and I’m influenced by blues and folk artists. Some artists I cover are Alanis Morissette, Ray Charles, the Beatles, Xavier Rudd, and Radiohead.
Goals at Sun Peaks? Put my son through school and keep hairdressing. We also just bought our first house.
