With this year’s flu strains featuring prominently in public discussion, and with the public’s eagerness to be vaccinated, the Ministry of Health warns there may be temporary gaps in supply and availability of the flu vaccine.
Already this season 1.4 million British Columbians have received the flu shot from the supply of 1.401 doses. More doses have been ordered by the province, and are expected to arrive in batches over the next few weeks.
The Sun Peaks Health Centre, however, still has several doses of the vaccine available. As of January 14, there was enough for 12 inoculations. The clinic, located off Sun Peaks’ P4 parking lot, is open from 4 to 6 p.m. daily.
