For people in every industry there are awards that highlight success and achievement.

The Oscars are to the movie industry what the Emmys are to television, and the Keystone Awards are to the B.C. building industry what the Grammys are to musicians.

Each year the Canadian Home Builders Association (Central Interior) awards home builders, suppliers, trades people and services accolades for outstanding performance in many areas.

This year the 9th annual Keystone Home Builders Awards of Excellence were held at the Delta Sun Peaks Resort, and one Sun Peaks business came home with a truck load of hardware.

Meranti Developments Ltd. took home six gold and five silver awards when the night was said and done.

Meranti took gold in Best Home under 1,500 sq. ft., Best Home 2,000 to 2,499 sq. ft., Best Home valued at $750,000 or over, Best Creation of a Unique Feature or Room Interior, Best Kitchen Design over $30,000 and Best Interior Design.

Each entry submitted to the Keystones is judged by a panel of industry experts with only the top finalists in each category receiving silver awards prior to being awarded the coveted gold awards at the annual black tie awards banquet. To see the Keystone Award logo on a business’s website or in their advertising signifies they’ve been recognized by their industry peers for excellence in their field.

Powder Ventures Excavations Ltd. was another Sun Peaks business to reach the finals in the Best Sub Trade category, and was recognized by the judges with a Keystone Silver Award.
