Water restrictions in effect

Water restrictions went into effect at Sun Peaks on May 1.

The annual restrictions apply until Sept. 30 and infractions may receive a $200 fee on a first offense and $500 fee for any subsequent offense.

Under the restrictions even numbered properties may sprinkle or irrigate on even numbered days. Odd numbered properties may do the same on odd numbered days. Complexes with internal addresses may use internal numbers to establish their watering days.

On your watering day you may use manual sprinklers between 6 and 11 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Automated irrigation is permitted 6 to 11 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. with the use of a timer.

Spring loaded nozzles should be installed on hoses for all uses except filling pools or hot tubs. Hand watering with a spring loaded nozzle or handheld container is allowed at any time.

Commercial properties may apply to the utilities manager for a variance. Properties which are under construction will be charged a $1,000 per day fee for hydrant use in addition to a metered water charge for water consumed.
