The 11th annual Canuck Splitfest will be hosted virtually by Avalanche Canada this season with proceeds going to public avalanche safety programs
The 11th annual Canuck Splitfest will be hosted by Avalanche Canada online from Jan. 8 to 10 with registration revenue and online auction proceeds going to their safety programs.
This year’s festival will not only be offered to splitboarders, but anyone who is interested in playing in the backcountry this winter including skiers, snowshoers, ice climbers and snowmobilers.
Canuck Splitfest was born from Revelstoke powder to help build the sport and increase the strength of the splitboard community.
One brightside from the pandemic is the offerings from this year’s event are moving online including panel discussions, guest speakers, trip planning tools/tips and learning for new and experienced backcountry enthusiasts. Other online options include swag giveaways, draw prizes, online auctions and contests where winners will receive a new BCA Radio Link 2.0, other BCA gear, a prize pack from Weston Backcountry and the chance to have your photography featured in Snowboard Canada magazine.
Registration for the festival is open now and can be found by clicking here.
The first 100 registrants will receive a free Canuck Splitfest neck tube and those who register before Jan. 7 will receive an early bird discount, costing $15.75 when using the code ‘EarlyBird2021’ at checkout. Regular admission costs go up to $21 after Jan. 6.
