Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks is looking for volunteers to make the mountain accessible to individuals with intellectual or physical disability.
Volunteer instructors are needed as well as individuals who are willing to volunteer in other areas, such as fundraising, administration and organizing events.
There’ll be a CADS Level 1 Instructor Certification Course held at the resort from Dec. 17 to 19. The first day of training will be an in-classroom session followed by two outdoor workshops.
Volunteers can either teach or serve as a ski buddy for individuals with disabilities.
The Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks is a non-profit society providing individuals with disabilities an opportunity to learn to ski and enjoy recreational winter activities.
To volunteer or participate in the program, contact Dick Taylor at 250-372-7322 or visit www.assp.ca.
