The Sun Peaks Alpine Club was well represented at the Teck race at Apex Mountain in a night dual slalom race and two Super G races on Feb. 20 and 21.
On Saturday, Beckett Hooton had a terrific performance moving from the back of the pack in 53rd to finish 13th in the Super G, 1.87 seconds back from the leader. Josh Jacoby also had a big jump in the standings moving up from 43rd to finish 25th. Joel Elias finished 45th.
Emily Whitecross had the best finish for the girls on Saturday, moving up from 42nd to finish 14th. Shaylyn Kovacs placed 27th and Delphine Langevin finished 29th.
On Sunday, Hooton had his second straight 13th place finish in the Super G, once again jumping up from a low start in 50th. Jacoby placed 21st and Elias finished 43rd.
Myka Jardine-Arnold finished in 11th place for the women, the best placement of any Sun Peaks racer on the weekend. Whitecross finished in 29th, Kovacs placed 36th, and Langevin finished slightly behind her teammates in 38th.
