There is a full area closure of IR 2-5, including an area of Heffley Lake

There has been a full area closure of IR 2-5 with restricted access within IR 1.

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Chief and Council has implemented a full area closure of IR 2-5, effective Aug. 14. Restrictions have been implemented for access to IR 1 range lands which includes backcountry access roads.

According to a statement, the closure is based on the extreme drought conditions and fire danger and is necessary to keep people, animals and the land safe. Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Chief and Council urges everyone to respect the closures and restrictions at this time and until further notice.
