A celebration of B.C.’s restaurants will take place from February 11 to 17, coinciding with the province’s inaugural Family Day and Valentine’s Day.
The B.C. Government has announced that the week will recognize the province’s restaurant industry which employs more than 170,000 people in B.C. and generates more than $10 billion in annual sales.
“This industry is made up of passionate and creative entrepreneurs,” said Naomi Yamamoto, minister of state for small business. “Restaurant Week is a great way to celebrate B.C.’s diverse restaurant industry and the many people who work in it.
“During Family Day, we encourage everyone to get together with their loved ones and support the many people who own and operate restaurant and food establishments in B.C.,” added Yamamoto.
B.C. has more than 12,000 restaurants.
