White brothers go head to head in Vernon

 | July 13, 2012

Jason White, and his brother Jim, will be sharing the track this weekend during the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at MotoPlex Speedway near Vernon, B.C. Jason will be racing his #21 Dodge, while Jim will pilot the #24 Dodge.

“It’s going to be so exciting to race against Jim,” said White.  “He’s a heck of a racer and I’m looking forward to battling with him head to head.”

Jason is a full time competitor in the series, while this will only be Jim’s sixth NCATS race, despite a wealth of experience and racing success. Saturday’s race follows Jason’s best ever series finish on an oval track. He wants to keep that winning momentum going, but will have to keep an eye on his latest competitor.

“Jason and I had such a good time last year,” says Jim, of their A&W Cruisin’ the Dub 300 race in Vernon last year. “I finished one position ahead of him and he’s going to want to beat me this year but I’m going to do my best not to let that happen.”

Jason expects the action to be heated at MotoPlex’s half mile track, and anticipates being right in the middle of it all.

“Our performance this season has been improving at every event,” he says.  “The whole gang at DJK Racing has given me a great car every weekend and we’re competing hard each time out.”

Racing action at MotoPlex Speedway will begin with practice  Saturday afternoon followed by qualifying at 5:15 p.m. The on-track autograph session with the drivers begins at 7 p.m. and the green flag flies for the A&W Cruisin’ the Dub 300 at 8:15 p.m.
