It’s the first evening rail jam ever held at Sun Peaks, and it’s the earliest event ever held in the Rockstar Energy Terrain Park. Get ready to throw down at The Block Party at Sun Peaks on Saturday, December 12, presented by Southside Board Shop and Spoke ‘n Motion.

After the sun sets, the park crew will turn on the flood lights in the Lower Terrain Park, and turn up the music on the P/A to amplify the night.

Riders will compete in four divisions: Grom (12 and under), Junior (13 to 16), Women’s Open, and Open (Advanced). Each division will also be broken up into ski and snowboard categories.

Entrants will battle it out in their category in 30 minute jam sessions for over $3000 in cash and prizes. For the Grom, Junior, and Women’s Open categories the winners will be determined from the 30 minute jams. For the open category, entrants will compete in a 30 minute jam, and the top five competitors will move on to the finals, where they will get two runs, taking their best run out of the two.

Registration takes place in the Village Day Lodge from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, and the rail jam takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Lower Terrain Park. Registration is $10, and participants under the age of 19 must have a parent or guardian sign a release of liability at the time of registration. Due to the close vicinity of the jam area to the village, the Block Party is great for spectators.
