The Mott’s Clamato “Caesar Challenge” came to Sun Peaks on Sunday, April 1 and the local bartending talent put on an extreme Caesar show for the judges and crowds on hand.
With ingredients like bok choy and maple bacon, peppercorn ice cubes, Kobe steak infused vodka, five local bartenders pulled out all the stops to see would be crowned the maker of the ultimate “Mott’s Clamato Caesar”.
Bartenders from Morrisey’s Irish Pub, Black Garlic Bistro, The Globe Café and Masa’s Bar and Grill amazed the judges with their innovative Caesar recipes making judging harder and harder with each new creation concocted.
MC Chris Nowak entertained the crowd while the judges loosened up considerably after each cocktail served.
In the end it was The Globe Café that took home the gold with Erin making a Thai themed Caesar that put a totally new flavor definition on this traditional Canadian cocktail.
Needless to say, the event was a spicy one and can become a staple on the Sun Peaks events calendar each spring.
