Crews respond to wildfire south of Sun Peaks
A wildfire 11 kilometres from Sun Peaks remains small, with active precipitation in the area and crews responding.

A four-person BC Wildfire crew is responding to a .009-hectare, out of control wildfire approximately 11 kilometres south of Sun Peaks just off Eileen Lake Forest Service Road. No structures are threatened at this time.
The wildfire was found at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Aug. 22, with a suspected cause of lightning.
According to a BC Wildfire communications officer, the area is receiving precipitation and additional wildfire activity is expected to be minimal.
The wildfire danger rating for this area is extreme and residents are reminded to report a wildfire by dialling *5555 on a cell phone or by calling 1 800 663-5555 toll-free.
