As Sun Peaks gears up to welcome visitors for another winter season, anticipation is already running high. With opening day moved from Nov. 22 to Nov. 27, some activities will be broken down between Thursday and Saturday.
Sun Peaks’ signature First Chair and Cinnamon Buns gathering will return, drawing early risers eager to be among the first up the mountain. Opening day celebrations will be in full swing Saturday. One of the weekend’s most popular attractions, Harry Bear & Cinnamon Buns, will return with treats and a visit from Sun Peaks’ mascot, drawing families and young skiers into the village. Later in the afternoon, guests can take part in Après & Ales at Masa’s Bar + Grill, where those with a valid lift ticket or season pass can enjoy a complimentary beer.
Saturday evening will feature a screening of Teton Gravity Research’s Pressure Drop, offering a cinematic look at ski and snowboard culture. The film will be shown at Masa’s beginning at 7 p.m.
Additional activities hosted throughout the opening period include a Holiday Swag Wreath Workshop, a hands-on crafting session for visitors looking to bring home a seasonal keepsake.
