Senior Sergeant Doug Aird from Tk’emlups Rural RCMP said the investigation was ongoing. RCMP visited several businesses around Sun Peaks and left flyers around the village seeking information.

Aird said RCMP had received several tips following the flyer drop and through Crime Stoppers which they are currently looking into.

“If there are people in Sun Peaks who know what happened, we’re asking that they come forward, and if they’re afraid to come forward, please contact Crime Stoppers and just provide us with some information,” Aird said.

“Anything the public can help us with would be appreciated. We believe there are people who know something but are reluctant to come forward, but we hope they do.”

Bennett’s family have offered a reward of up to $10,000 leading to information that will lead to a conviction of the driver responsible.

Anyone with information on this hit and run, or who know of a vehicle fitting this description operating in the Sun Peaks area, are asked to contact Kamloops Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
