Canadian and U.S. avalanche safety organizations have teamed up to challenge skiers and snowboarders by proposing a video contest.
Entrants must make a four minute video that shows proper preparation for riding beyond resort boundaries, with the winner getting a two-day trip for two to Monashee Powder Snowcats in the snow belt of B.C.’s Interior, plus prizes for 2nd and 3rd.
“Our goal is to simplify what’s involved in avalanche terrain preparation,” says Canadian Avalanche Centre Executive Director Gilles Valade.
The final winner will be determined by a combination of most views and by review of an expert panel.
Submission deadline is Monday, April 7.
