RCMP have identified an inmate from the Kamloops Regional Corrections Centre who escaped a prison work detail around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 18 as Steve Michael Hodgins of Kamloops.
Hodgins is a white male with freckled complexion, 5’8” tall, weighing 162 pounds.
Police note that Hodgins is a “prolific property crime offender” who does not have a history of violence, however, the public is urged to be vigilant and to not try to apprehend this person.
The RCMP also note that anyone providing assistance or support to an escaped prisoner is subject to potential criminal prosecution for aiding and abetting a criminal.
Should you have any information about Hodgins location, contact RCMP or Crimestoppers.
