Meet prospective councillor Elizabeth Wilkinson

Wilkinson is the director of events and partnerships at Sun Peaks Resort, where she leads strategic partnerships, community events and major resort initiatives.

She brings more than 30 years of senior leadership and business management experience from Canada and the United Kingdom. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for strategic and financial planning, multimillion-dollar budgets, business growth, and the leadership of large, diverse teams. Her experience includes overseeing complex operations, developing and implementing company-wide systems, managing organizational change, strengthening health and safety practices, driving marketing and customer-service strategies, and delivering major events and community programs. She has consistently brought together employees, partners and stakeholders to turn plans into practical results, improve performance and create long-term value.

As a Sun Peaks homeowner and active member of the community, Wilkinson hopes to bring a practical and collaborative approach, strong operational experience and a commitment to thoughtful decision-making that supports residents, local businesses and the long-term success of Sun Peaks.

“My first step would be to review the undisclosed previous work and discussions, so I fully understand what has been explored, the challenges and opportunities. I would support the new Sun Peaks Health Association Board and help bring the municipality, Interior Health, province and community partners together to find a sustainable solution. Accessible healthcare is important to our residents, workforce, visitors and the long-term sustainability of Sun Peaks.”
