Victoria rockers Michael Wood Band will return to The Club on March 30. The group kicked off its tour of western Canada in Saskatoon January 18, followed by stops in several cities in Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC and Ontario.

“It’s really great to see people responding so positively to our music,” says frontman Michael Wood. “People hear the songs and see our video for the single “End of the World” and are excited to have us out to play. Last time we played at Sun Peaks there was a great crowd, and it got a little crazy.”

Michael Wood Band has an alt-rock sound described as “the Killers meets Kings of Leon”, and an enthusiastic stage show which never fails to engage the audience. From Canada’s west coast, the four-piece features Michael Wood (vocals/guitar), Josh Weed (guitar/vocals), Jon Burgundy (bass/vocals), and Alex Campbell (drums/vocals).

The past year has been a busy one for MWB. Their first album “Occupy This” was released in May, and has been called “astoundingly good” by music critics. The band has played everything from small charity shows to large festivals, including a performance at the Calgary Stampede.

Music starts at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
