New location for RV traffic at resort

More overnight options are now available for travellers to Sun Peaks with the opening of an RV and camping area in the P4 parking lot next to the Sun Peaks Sports Centre. The area can accommodate 12 recreational vehicles up to 40 feet long.
“It adds a bit of a different facet to the resort,” says Kevin Bendick, director of outside operations for Sun Peaks. “We went ahead and built it to make it a little bit easier for people who want to bring their campers and tents up to stay up here.”
At present, the site is a basic lot with parking spots, picnic tables and garbage bins. Access to the washroom and shower facilities in the Sports Centre is also available 24-hours a day for campers.
RV parking runs a camper $10 per night, a fee that’s collected at the site in the evenings by Sun Peaks Resort building maintenance personnel. Spots are first come, first served, and no reservations are available. Since it opened on June 22, the site has seen consistent traffic.
