Online auction supports Canada Winter Games’ snowboard team

The BC Snowboard Association is pleased to announce an On-Line Auction available at www.bcsnowboard.com. The auction will be running through October 30, 2010 with 100% of the proceeds going to directly supporting our 2011 Canada Games athletes in their preparation for winning Gold at the Games.

The Canada Games are a multi-sport event held every four years in Canada. For many sports these games are an integral step for athletes to reach International competition. Snowboarding made its debut as a demonstration sport at the 2007 Canada Winter Games held in Whitehorse, Yukon with Halfpipe and Parallel Giant Slalom events.

During the 2011 Games not only is snowboarding a full flag event but have also added the immensely popular Snowboard Cross event to the roster.

The 2011 Canada Games are scheduled to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia during February 12-27, 2011. The snowboard events are set to take place during the second week of competition.

BC Snowboard would like to thank all of the organizations and individuals who have made this auction possible through their donations and support.

“We have some fantastic items up for bid thanks to the generosity of dozens of supporting businesses and individuals.” says Andrew George, BC Snowboard Athlete Program Director. “It has been really fantastic to see BC based businesses get behind our athletes who are representing our Province at the next Games.”
