Opportunities to learn how to use Naloxone in Sun Peaks

Knowing how to use Naloxone could be the difference between life and death should someone overdose. Because of this the Sun Peaks Health Centre is offering the community education options.

All community members are invited to a group lesson on the opioid blocker.

Dr. Shane Barclay of the Sun Peaks Health Centre will host a talk on drug overdose and a demonstration of Naloxone use.

Free Naloxone kits will also be available for free for attendees to take home.

The event will take place March 20 at 6 p.m. in the Burfield Lodge.

Anyone interested in learning the important skills who can’t attend or who would like to learn privately may contact the clinic and arrange a private lesson with a nurse.

The free one-on-one session would teach the same skills and provide a kit to take home.

To schedule a private lesson call the Health Centre at 778-644-0635.
