Parent survey on Sun Peaks learning centre

 | May 14, 2010

A group of parents are planning to start a learning centre in Sun Peaks. The plan is to provide a stable learning environment for the students within the community that integrates B.C. curriculum with opportunities available at the resort. The learning centre will be located in the Kids Ranch Learning Centre (on top of the Platter Lift) and will initially offer K-7 programs with the ultimate goal of having a full K-12 program. It is slated to open this September.

Curriculum and teaching resources will be provided through School District 73’s @KOOL (Kamloops Online Open Learning) Distributed Learning Program. A full-time teaching assistant will work with students on-site and collaborate with the B.C. certified @KOOL teacher in delivering the program.

Parents are invited to fill out the survey below by Wednesday, May 19. This information will guide the team in planning for the proposed learning centre.
