Around 150 people turned The Club into a sea of red and white in support of Sun Peaks’ ski patrol on February 11. The drawcard was the banjo-laden tunes of up-and-coming Fernie, B.C. indie folksters Shred Kelly.

Organizer Ryan Vrooman confirmed that the night was a success and that “somewhere between $500 and $1,000,” was raised.

The proceeds will to go towards purchasing a new defibrillator (AED) for the resort. Ski patrol’s original defibrillator was donated to them by former patroller George Kilburn who wanted to leave a legacy to Sun Peaks. That AED has subsequently been donated to Haiti following the 2012 earthquake.
