Nicolson said the event attracted around 80 competitors from as far as 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, Clearwater, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kamloops for the 2 kilometre, 5 km, 15 km, and 30 km courses.
“We couldn’t have asked for better conditions for a Nordic race. The snow conditions were very, very good and it made for a fast race.”
Nicolson said feedback from organizers and competitors was positive, and said there was a great turnout to the race and to the awards ceremony.
“From a Nordic club perspective, the event is great for getting new people involved in cross-country skiing.”
Around $4,000 worth of prizes were up for grabs, including new skis and poles.
