Planned power outage to impact Sun Peaks, Heffley Creek and Upper Louis Creek

BC Hydro will be completing upgrades, resulting in a planned power outage Thursday, May 8.

On Thursday, May 8, BC Hydro will be completing upgrades of the distribution line providing electricity to Sun Peaks, Heffley Creek and Upper Louis Creek. For crew safety to complete this work, there will be a planned power outage Thursday, May 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“We must perform work on the electrical system to maintain its safe and efficient operation,” BC Hydro shared in a statement. “To ensure the safety of work crews and the public, some of this work can only be completed with the power lines de-energized, which means an outage for some customers.”

As a result of the outage, municipal offices will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Online services will also be unavailable.
