Quiet April for police

TRCMP_logok’emlups Rural RCMP reported a quiet April for police activity in Sun Peaks, responding to just 12 calls in Sun Peaks over the month. The main trend in April was false or abandoned 911 calls, which police said were mostly the result of pocket dials. Police responded to four abandoned 911 calls in April.
On April 5, RCMP responded to an alleged assault, and on April 10 they responded to a minor vehicle collision.
Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are currently applying for additional funding for their summer policing schedule to ensure Sun Peaks has a good police presence during major events this year. RCMP are working with the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality to determine key dates for summer events.
