Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are seeking further information on three June incidents.
On June 6, police responded to a report of a broken window at the Sundance Liquor Store. Sometime during the night, a suspect had thrown a large rock at one of the front windows, shattering the inside window pane, but leaving the outer pane intact. It’s believed the rock was intended to cause damage, not gain entry.
On June 12, a UPS package was taken from The Residences at Sun Peaks Grand. The package contained a $5,500 Tag Heur Grand Carrera stainless steel watch, which had been sent away for repair and returned, but not personally handed over to the owner.
On June 28, the front licence plate was stolen from a Ford F450 rental vehicle. The licence plate number is JG0-402. Plates are often taken to be used on uninsured vehicles or by suspects using the plate to commit crimes.
RCMP attended a total of eight incidents in Sun Peaks in June.
Police will be implementing additional patrols during major events this summer, focusing on preventative measures including road checks, traffic enforcement, foot patrols, bar checks, and liquor act patrols.
If you have any information about any of the above incidents, please contact Tk’emlups Rural RCMP on 250-214-1800 or Crime Stoppers on 1-800-222-8477 or visit the Crime Stoppers website.
