Sun Peaks Resort LLP (SPR) is no longer allowing uphill access on any of their mountains.

After closing on March 18 SPR announced they would allow skiing and hiking on the area around the Orient chairlift.

On March 26 they released a statement saying the area is now fully closed for the season.

“We no longer have the availability of on-site safety teams for this purpose and we do not want to run the risk of further burdening the medical system due to any alpine ski related activity. We will continue to evaluate similar opportunities for the future,” the statement read.

Nordic, snowshoe, and fat bike trails will remain open to local traffic only.

“We ask that other guests do not visit the resort at this time for any recreational purposes.”
