Sun Peaks Resort LLP is asking residents and guests to respect the mountain’s closure while teams work hard to prepare for opening day.
“As the snow is falling and we get closer to opening weekend of Alpine skiing, we remind you to please stay off designated ski terrain, no matter how tempting it may be,” they wrote in a statement. “For your safety and the safety of our crews, this is imperative. Snow making, grooming and other operational activities are taking place at all hours of the day and night, making hazards prevalent, such as high voltage cables, groomers running in low visibility, winch cables, water bars and drainage ditches, which can lead to serious injury.
“Please respect the mountain closures – we’ll be open in just a few short days! We look forward to seeing you on the slopes soon.”
The resort is scheduled to open Saturday, Nov. 23.
