Search called off for Clearwater teacher

 | December 13, 2012

The Clearwater RCMP and local Search and Rescue teams have concluded their search efforts for Courtney Buck as of December 13, classifying her now as missing presumed drowned. Sky Buck’s body was retrieved from their submerged vehicle earlier this week.

The search, which had been ongoing since December 9th, included air search by the Southeast District RCMP Air Services helicopter, ground searches by RCMP and local Search and Rescues volunteers and Department of Fisheries and Oceans vessels on the water.

The Clearwater RCMP will continue to consult with local Search and Rescue technicians to assess further search efforts as river conditions and water levels change. The RCMP Air Services crews and Department of Fisheries and Oceans also remain aware and will conduct future patrols during the normal course of their duties in this area.

The Clearwater RCMP and BC Coroners Services are continuing their investigations and are providing support to the affected families and local community.
