Missing skier Tomasz Jaholkowski has been located deceased according to Kamloops RCMP. Jaholkowski was located near an area of Sun Peaks Ski Resort Dec. 12, after being reported missing on Dec. 11, Kamloops RCMP shared in a statement.
No criminality is suspected in his death.
In a statement issued Dec. 13, Sun Peaks Resort LLP said Jaholkowski was not within the ski-area boundary.
“Mountain recreation is meant to be a source of joy, and our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Jaholkowski’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” SPR said in the statement.
A search is still ongoing for 68-year-old Tomasz Jaholkowski, who was last recorded checking into a Sun Peaks Resort run around 11:35 a.m., Dec. 10.
“Mr. Jaholkowski does not appear to have returned to his hotel room, nor has he been heard from since checking into the run on Tuesday,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson in a statement. “We are very concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone who may have seen him or has information on his potential whereabouts, to please contact police as soon as possible.
In a statement issued by Sun Peaks Resort LLP, the resort confirmed Jaholkowski was last seen at the West Bowl chairlift on Tod Mountain. He was skiing alone and had no other lift scans.
Police, Search and Rescue and Sun Peaks Ski Patrol continue to look for him, with the support of resources including helicopters and drones.
Jaholkowski was last seen wearing a red and black ski jacket, dark ski pants and a dark helmet. He is described as Caucasian, 5’10”, approximately 180 lbs with grey hair and brown eyes.

Kamloops Search and Rescue has been involved in two other searches involving missing skiers this season, one on Nov. 30 and one on Dec. 4, Kamloops Search and Rescue search manager Alan Hobler told SPIN. Both were found safe and in good condition.
