Season heating up for local softball league

The season is heating up for the Heffley Creek Softball League with games scheduled until July for this season.

Three out of the 10 teams in the league are from Sun Peaks: Giverballs, Sunpeaks and Balls of Anarchy.

The games are played daily at Dick Hart Park in Heffley Creek from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and everyone’s welcome to watch.

This season, there are three upcoming tournaments in the coming months. On May 28 to 29, the league is holding the Lee Pasemko Memorial Tournament which is held in memory of a former league member. On June 11 and 12, there will be a fundraiser tournament where all proceeds raised will go toward a fund to maintain Dick Hart Park. To wrap up the season, a year-end tournament will be held on July 9 and 10.
