 | January 25, 2013

3_april_2011_idre_114_kopieraAfter a season off and the restructuring of their organization, the Sun Peaks Speed Skiing Club (SPSSC) is poised to once again host the fastest skiers on the planet from February 28 to March 3 during the 2013 Sun Peaks FIS Speed Ski World Cup event.

This year will be the 23rd year for the event that sees racers hit speeds exceeding 170 kilometres per hour.

“We had a year off due to funding issues but we’re now back on track to host this unique international event,” said Adam Earle, president of the SPSSC. “Thanks to the Firefighters’ Gala, the community support and the return of some of our corporate sponsors, the SPSSC now have the funds in the bank to make it happen again.”
