Sun Peaks’ fire ban lifted

Resultant of a reduced threat of forest fire, Sun Peaks Fire Chief Bill Stoner has lifted the fire ban at Sun Peaks.

Effective noon September 22, 2011, campfires will again be permitted within Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality.  According to Sun Peaks Fire and Life Safety By-law, campfires are to be no larger than ½ meter high and ½ meter wide.  As always, all open burning other than camp fires requires a permit issued by the fire chief.  For information on open burning, please call Sun Peaks Fire Rescue at 250-578-8985.
