Update 4:20 p.m. April 29: Kamloops RCMP have confirmed the driver and only occupant of a cement truck travelling toward Sun Peaks has died. Kamloops Fire Rescue and Sun Peaks Fire Rescue attended the scene and assisted extricating the driver who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP stated the driver was male and from the Kamloops area.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
Sun Peaks Fire Rescue, Kamloops Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance Service, an air ambulance and Kamloops RCMP responded to a fatal crash Monday morning just before 9 a.m.
Early reports say a large truck went over the bank near 2933 Heffley Louis Creek Rd.
Kamloops RCMP said no information will be released until next-of-kin have been notified.
