Three Olympians will be in Sun Peaks as guest coaches for the 15th annual Telus Nancy Greene Corporate Challenge.
Sun Peaks’ own Nancy Greene Raine, Steve Podborski and Kathy Kreiner-Phillips will be in Sun Peaks Resort on Feb. 18 and 19 to lend their skiing expertise to participants.
The Telus Nancy Greene Corporate Challenge is a fun competition where teams one-up each other in a giant slalom run. Teams of four will be competing, with each racer’s best time counting towards the team total.
The race will be followed by an evening of festivities featuring a live and silent auction. Some of the items that will go to the highest bidder include two prime seat tickets to the 2011 Grey Cup and superior suite accommodation at the Rosedale on Robson, a four-day houseboat trip for 15 at the Shuswap, Rocky Mountain Bikes and a Robson Helimagic summer heli trip.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Sun Peaks Health Association, Sun Peaks Junior Racers and the Royal Inland Hospital. The charity has raised $350,000 to these three organizations for the last 14 years.
It’s not too late to register. Participants must be at least 19 years old; teams are required to have at least one male and one female member. Registration for a team is $600 and $150 for individuals.
