The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) Tourism Summit will convene in Sun Peaks Nov. 2 to 4. The annual meeting brings together members of the tourism and hospitality industry for three days of workshops and presentations, all geared to further develop and market tourism and hospitality businesses for the region.
This year, approximately 200 attendees will have input into a 10-year regional tourism strategy, focusing on industry’s future direction to increase the number of “experience seeker” travelers from key markets in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia. Additionally, attendees will provide input into a new tourism human resources plan being developed by go2, the province’s tourism and hospitality human resources association.
“The summit offers our businesses, communities and marketing people a chance to network and learn from top tourism experts,” notes Greg Mandziuk, TOTA’s chief executive officer. “The summit program will look at what motivates visitors to come to the Thompson-Okanagan, how to market in a way that truly connects with travelers, and how to increase sales and profits.”
