Tourism Sun Peaks (TSP) has announced measures to ease the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the community.

A three per cent assessment increase due to go into effect this spring will now be delayed until April 2021 and deferment for TSP fees is available to members.

TSP president Arlene Schieven wrote they have also made changes to their operation.

“We recognize that our members are experiencing very difficult times at the moment. TSP has also made some tough decisions, including temporarily laying off approximately half of our 9 person staff,” she wrote. ”The staff that remain are working closely with our regional, provincial and national partners to stay on top of all recovery programs and initiatives so that, when the time comes, we will be ready to head back into market and bring business back to Sun Peaks.”
