It’s just the third race of the season and NASCAR racer Jason White has already scored two Top 10 finishes.
He cinched his second 10th place finish at the Keystone Light 200 at Delaware Speedway near London, Ont.
After not being satisfied with his qualifying, White promised to make up for it during the race and clearly made good on his word.
Even for a game that showcases speed, patience is still key in getting to the top spot. “I’ve found that if we focus on making sure we’re there at the end to finish the race, the positive results will come,” said White, and the strategy paid off.
White carried on the momentum from the June 11 race, where he took his first 10th place finish. This race was at the Circuit ICAR, a new road course addition to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.
“We were in 10th place out of 28 cars, so we were really excited,” said an extremely pleased White.
“It was my best road course finish ever; it was also the team’s best road course finish ever,” he said. Prior to this, White’s best was an 11th place finish last season in Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
These two consecutive races are a welcome change from the first race, when an oil line leak threw a curveball to the team’s race plan.
Next race is the Vortex Brake Pads 200 is on June 26 at Mosport International Raceway.
