A toast to wines!

Tickets are selling fast for the 12th Annual Winter Festival of Wine at Sun Peaks Resort in the B.C. Interior. The Medal Winners Tasting is sold out already and there are only a handful of tickets left to the Varietal Showdown and Dinner, a brand new event on Tuesday, Jan. 19 featuring a wonderful collection of B.C. wines paired with a uniquely seasonal menu.

The expanded festival kicks off this Saturday with Wild Meats and Wild Wines, another new event for the 2010 festival. This event features an assortment of tribal-inspired regional wild game and fish paired with distinct B.C. wine varietals before dancing to live music.

New events are mixed in with old favourites, such as the Taste of Sun Peaks, Icewines & Nothing More, and the Sun Peaks Progressive Tasting, which features 20 wineries spread throughout the alpine village offering participants samples of their best varietals.

Event tickets start from $17 per person (for the Sun Peaks Wine and Dine) to $125 per person (Varietal Showdown and Dinner). “Whether guests consider themselves a wine connoisseur or just a wine rookie, there are an array of events available to satisfy every palette and budget,” says Jen Barter, Resort Experience Manager at Tourism Sun Peaks.
